Reason?
According to his statement:
“National affairs” were too important.
Instead of boarding a plane for wedding celebrations, he said he needed to remain in Washington.
Moments later, the White House confirmed that he would stay at the White House and gather his national security team for discussions related to Iran.
And the internet collectively reacted:

“Wait…”
“You missed your son’s wedding for THIS?”
