The Name Came Down Faster Than It Went Up
The latest chapter in the never-ending Trump drama began on May 29, when a federal judge delivered a ruling that landed like a cannonball in Washington.
The issue? The famous Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Last year, plans were announced to rename the venue the “Trump-Kennedy Center,” with Trump serving as chairman and backing an ambitious renovation project scheduled to begin this summer.
Everything seemed set.
Then Judge Christopher Cooper stepped in.
His message was surprisingly simple:
Congress named the Kennedy Center. Congress gets to decide if the name changes.
Not the board.
Not administrators.
Not even Trump.
As a result, every sign featuring the Trump name was ordered removed within 14 days.
Talk about a plot twist.
